Watercraft Inspector Seasonal Positions

Employment Term: Seasonal employment will run from approximately the end of May
through Labor Day.
Position Description: Glacierland Resource Conservation & Development Council, Inc. (RC&D) is an
equal opportunity employer seeking watercraft inspectors for the summer. The primary duty of these
positions will be inspecting watercraft entering or leaving the lake for aquatic invasive species (AIS)
and handing out educational materials to boaters. Pay will be $16-$18 based on experience.
Travel: Reliable transportation and insurance is required for these positions. Daily commute
to and from the boat landing is not reimbursed.
Required Skills:

● Independent and reliable
● Strong verbal and communication skills
● Willingness to work outdoors in varied weather and environmental conditions
Preferred Qualities:
● Knowledge and understanding of aquatic invasive species
● Experience with public communication and/or public service
Training: Inspectors are required to attend a paid Clean Boats Clean Waters (CBCW) training
with AIS Coordinator on proper watercraft inspection procedures following the DNR’s CBCW
protocols.
Special Note: Hired staff will be required to work most weekends throughout the season, including
part of each holiday weekend (Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day). Staff will also be expected to
work during DNR statewide events including Drain Campaign & AIS Great Lakes Landing Blitz.
