Natural Resources Board to meet January 22-23 in Madison

MADISON – Requests to consider the 2019 black bear harvest quotas and proposed rules related to establishing the 2019 migratory bird season framework and regulations are among the items the Wisconsin Natural Resources Board will address when it meets January 22-23 in Madison.

The board will convene at 2 p.m., Tuesday Jan. 22 and 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 23, in Room G09, State Natural Resources Building (GEF 2), 101 South Webster St., Madison.

The board also will be asked to approve proposed fisheries and wildlife management spring fish and wildlife public hearing questions, consider a request for adoption of proposed rules related to volatile organic compound control regulations for lithographic printing; consider requests for proposed rules relating to septage hauling, assessment and remediation of contaminated sediments, and wildlife refuges and closed areas; among other items.

On Tuesday, Jan. 22 at approximately 3:30 p.m. the board may convene in closed session to confer with legal counsel regarding potential litigation issues arising out of the board’s pending decision to approve emergency rules to enable the Lake Superior Fishing Agreement. Immediately following the board will host a meet and greet for department employees for about an hour. The board will gather for dinner at 6 p.m. at Graze, 1 South Pinckney St., Madison. No board business will be discussed at the meet and greet or at dinner.
