Don’t Let Hunting Season Keep You from Voting
Fall is here. The mornings are cooler, leaves are changing colors, the woods are calling, and calendars fill up fast. Between work, family, and hunting season, Election Day can sneak up on you. Don’t let it!
The people that win these elections make decisions that affect our lives and our outdoor traditions. If you don’t vote, then people that don’t care about the issues that matter most to you, are the ones that elect the winners. That is why it is so important that you get out and vote in this election. Before you vote, I believe it is important to determine how each candidate would vote on issues that matter to you: hunting and fishing, the Second Amendment, conservation, public safety, and the values you want to pass on to the next generation.
Hunter Nation is not telling you how to vote, but in today’s America there is a stark difference between where each party stands on the important issues. One party supports gun control and gun confiscation, while the other party are staunch supporters of our Second Amendment rights. One party wants to allow men to play in women’s sports and enter women’s locker rooms and restrooms. The other party recognizes this is mental illness and fights to protect our wives, daughters, sisters and mothers. One party wants an open border so illegals can flood into our country bringing in drugs, increasing crime and taking our jobs. The other party supports secure borders and only legal immigration. One party wants to defund the police while the other stands for law and order. One party recently tried to ban all hunting and fishing in a state, while the other fought like heck to defend our hunting and fishing rights. One party hates rural America and the other supports ranchers, farmers, and those of us that live a hunting lifestyle.
Sure, I understand. Gas prices are higher than we want them to be. But, I know I sleep better knowing Iran doesn’t have a nuclear weapon. And the party that is trying to get you to vote for them because gas prices are elevated are the same people that want to ban fracking and oil and gas exploration. My prayer is that everyone looks at what’s in the best long-term interest of America, and votes accordingly. To me, the choices are obvious!
I encourage you to make sure you are registered to vote, find your polling place, and make a plan to vote before your fall schedule gets away from you. If you are a real patriot and want to make sure America does not go in a direction different than your values, reach out to five family members or friends and make sure they vote. If you have to, drive them to the polls!

Enjoy the hunt this fall. But make time to vote. Otherwise, when Halloween arrives, the trick may be on all of us who assumed someone else would show up to protect the traditions we value.
Make a plan. Bring five people with you. Get out and vote.
