If you have the invasive species Phragmites, also known as Giant Reed, on your property in Manitowoc County and received a permission slip mailed by your Township please return the form to Melissa Curran, 1165 Scheuring Road, DePere, 54115, project coordinator with Stantec. The consulting firm Stantec will start herbicide treatments in mid-August and continue thru late October, weather permitting. Treatment can not occur with out permission from the landowner, their is no cost to the landowner.
If you have identified a colony of Phragmites on your property and not received a permission slip in the mail it may not have been mapped. You can check your local Township Hall and view their map of identified sites. This is an opportunity to stop an invasive species from spreading into our wetlands and woodlands.
