Welcome

The Twin Rivers Water Trail is a community initiated project to bring greater attention to and usage of the East and West Twin Rivers. Citizens of Two Rivers and Mishicot teamed up to develop a series of canoe and kayak launch sites, a water trail map, and other amenities to promote the recreational use and educational opportunities that the two rivers provide.

Mission Statement

The Twin Rivers Water Trail promotes the development and safe use of a water trail for human powered watercraft along the East and West Twin Rivers. Spotlight the rich natural habitat and cultural history in and around the rivers and develop further partnerships for projects, maintenance, volunteer opportunities, public events and trail stewardship.

The Twin Rivers Water Trail is a community generated project born of a love for the rivers in our communities. The Village of Mishicot and the City of Two Rivers formed an all-volunteer committee of interested citizens to make the trail happen. The Twin Rivers Water Trail was developed with a major grant from Wisconsin Coastal Management, and a donation from the West Foundation, and help from Bay-Lake Regional Planning Commission. Some other grants were also secured including material support from Two Rivers Rotary Club to purchase docks, produce signs at the launch points, and build this website.

Further funding is needed to rent toilet facilities, add additional signs to direct people to the launch points, and other amenities required for the trail. Please help the maintenance and further development of the Two Rivers Water trail by contributing. Transactions will be managed through Woodland Dunes Nature Center, which administers the funds to the Twin Rivers Water Trail.
