Support hunters and CWD efforts in your area through the DNR’s Adopt-a-Dumpster and Adopt-a-Kiosk programs.

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is once again partnering with volunteers around the state to support deer hunters collecting crucial data on chronic wasting disease (CWD) and prevent the spread of the disease.

If you’re interested in helping hunters in your local area, we encourage you to sign up for the DNR’s Adopt-a-Kiosk and Adopt-a-Dumpster programs.

Adopt-a-Kiosk

Most hunters who have their deer tested for CWD use self-service kiosks set up around the state. As an Adopt-a-Kiosk volunteer, you or your organization can sponsor a kiosk throughout the deer season and support your local hunters.

Adopt-a-Dumpster

Properly disposing of deer carcasses is an important way hunters prevent or slow the spread of CWD. Through the Adopt-a-Dumpster program, you or your organization will work with the DNR to place a dumpster in your area to provide a convenient deer carcass disposal option for hunters in your community.

You’ll work with the DNR to determine a location for the dumpster you sponsor. Volunteers manage the dumpster for the entirety of its placement and either donate the full cost of the dumpster or participate in the DNR’s cost-sharing program.

How To Volunteer

Thank you for helping us support Wisconsin deer hunters in monitoring and preventing the spread of CWD!
