n April 6th, the North American board made the difficult decision not to hold the 2020 North American Rendezvous June 4-6 in Missoula, Montana.Instead our aim is to re-envision the 2020 Rendezvous as a virtual event.

Rendezvous is our biggest party of the year, a family reunion of public lands sportsmen and women from across the continent. It’s a time to learn, reconnect, and grow our collective energy. Nothing can replace the awesomeness that is Rendezvous, and we look forward to getting together next year for the biggest and best celebration yet. Oh man, how we will revel.

As hunters and anglers, we are best positioned to deal with adverse and changing conditions. It’s what we do every time we go afield, and it’s exactly what we are doing right now. We’re in the process of developing an innovative and exciting Virtual Rendezvous as part of an expanded roster of opportunities to help you remain engaged with the BHA family, learn some new things, and have some much-needed fun.

Here’s what’s in the works right now:

·         In June, we will be convening BHA’s Virtual Rendezvous. The program we’re developing includes in-depth panel discussions and seminars, returning favorites like Campfire Stories, Public Land Owner Film Fest, and an expanded online auction anchored by BHA corporate partners.

·         We are exploring a series of in-person Rendezvous-type events with a regional focus later this year. We all rely on face-to-face gatherings with our BHA brethren to recharge and lift our spirits. More information on these events is coming soon.

·         We’re ramping up our online offerings, adding hands-on events like Struttin and Cluckin, our inaugural turkey calling contest, chapter-led pint nights, and the Public Grouse Virtual Tour. We’re increasing and enriching content on the BHA website and blog, such as the recent launch of the Jim Posewitz Digital Library. We’re seeking ways to keep you informed and provide opportunities to learn and engage even during a time of social distancing.

We realize that the energy and excitement of the traditional BHA Rendezvous will be hard to duplicate, and we are feeling this loss. At the same time, we look forward to sharing more information about the BHA Virtual Rendezvous and continuing to work together in support of our shared values, collective passions, and our unparalleled outdoor legacy.

To those who have already bought Rendezvous tickets, we thank you. Our team is working on developing specific, exclusive benefits through our virtual and regional events to provide value to your ticket purchase. Details on exclusive benefits will be sent to you soon. If you’d rather opt out, you can elect to use your ticket price as a down payment on life membership (we have some amazing life member premiums right now), or get a partial or full refund.

If you have questions in the meantime, check the Rendezvous page on our website or contact us directly.

During this time of uncertainty and great challenge, your support is more important than ever. Thank you for continuing to stand up for our public lands and waters and remaining a part of the BHA community. We appreciate you.

Onward and Upward,

Land Tawney
