Your NRA would like to thank the many lawmakers who stood with our members and Second Amendment supporters at every step of the legislative process in opposition to AB 291. |

| On June 4-5, the annual Yale Mayors College & CEO Summit was held in New York City. The theme of this year’s CEO Summit was “Trumpeting the Issues without Becoming the Issue: Selective Use of CEO Voice.” Making clear that much of the event was about corporate virtue signaling strategy, “Session 2” on the June 4 agenda was titled, “The Courage to Stand Alone: CEO Voice & Virtue.” |

| Despite no longer living in the White House, former President Barack Obama continues to be a headache to law-abiding Americans. On May 30, Obama spoke at a digital innovation event in Brazil. During the onstage conversation, Obama said, “Our gun laws in the United States don’t make much sense. Anybody can buy any weapon, any time, without much, if any, regulation. They can buy [guns] over the internet, they can buy machine guns.” |

| This week in the online course “Reducing Gun Violence in America: Evidence for Change” is a real rollercoaster. Week Five is titled “Regulating Gun Design, Enforcing Gun Laws, and Reducing Police-Involved Shootings” covers so-called assault weapons, smart guns, and technology so cutting edge it doesn’t even actually exist. There are several unexpected acknowledgements of reality this week, and we’ll point those out whenever possible. We’d like to be fair to the Bloomberg School and we know our readers appreciate brief rays of sunshine in a storm of nonsense. |

| After signing six gun control measures into law a year ago, New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy warned that “Our work is far from done.” Several new bills are now making the rounds in a state already notorious for its extreme and oppressive firearm laws. |

| On June 13th, the New Hampshire state House of Representatives voted to concur on two anti-gun bills that they had received back from the Senate. House Bills 109 and 514 will now go to Governor Chris Sununu’s desk, where his office has indicated that he is not looking to make any changes to existing firearm laws. |

| The adjournment of the Connecticut Assembly has derailed Senate Bill 20, legislation that would have criminalized importation of elephant, lion, leopard, rhino and giraffe parts from Africa into the state. Hunters and wildlife conservationists around the world, especially in Africa, are overjoyed to see this development. |

| A couple of decades ago, the food vendors that plied the streets of major U.S. cities were a case study in monotony. Even though they were technically competitors, the hot dog carts and halal stands that crowded the corners tended to sell the exact same products at the exact same price. |

| Yesterday, the Assembly Judiciary Committee passed a package of anti-gun bills heavily opposed by NRA and ANJRPC. |

| Kate Nixon worked as a compliance manager on the second floor of Operations Building 2 in the Virginia Beach Municipal Center. The 42-year-old was described as “always helping others.” She was president of the Pembroke Meadows Civic League and a devoted church goer at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church. |
