Newsletter from the Friends of the Branch River Watershed

Hello all!

I wanted to send out a reminder about trees and upcoming events.

First and foremost, we NEED help for the upcoming brat fry. We thank those of you who have already made plans to help out. Older kids and a parent are also great helpers so please keep this in mind; even if its a 2 hour stretch of time.

The brat fry will be 7/5/24 at Rob’s Market in Manitowoc. The event will be 9 – 3 pm with helpers needed for packaging, working the registers, frying, etc. PLEASE call Al at (920)901-5166 (Don’t text!) and let him know what you/your family can help with. Or you can reply to this email too.

Trees– Al will be picking them up 4/26/24. Please make arrangements to get them asap if you placed an order.

Bluebird house painting- we aren’t going to host this event this year. Al has a lot of bluebird houses from Bob Schuh. He will have them available during events, meetings, tree pickups if you want some. We will also bring to brat fry for people interested in them.

Next event– Bridge crossing cleanup. The more the merrier for bridge crossing pickups! Meet @ 9 am on 4/20 at the new Taus Town Hall off Cty Rd J– if you don’t know where this is, reply to the email/ Call Al and we’ll get you the address. I recommend some sturdy work gloves but Al should have latex gloves available for use too. Rain date will be on 4/21.

Al– what time should we plan for rain date?

Thats it for now! I’ll try to get these events up on our facebook page too.

Thanks!
Emily Endter

NOTE: To all of you who do not belong yet to the FOBR group, this is the group that works with youth and it’s a great family group to work with. Everything is geared for the youth and the parents work right along with the youth.  There are a lot of perks for families in this group.  Check out their Facebook page or contact Al or Emily if you want to join.
