Our second brat fry will be on July 6 from 10-3 pm. Plans are to start frying around 9 ish. So far we have: Brian Stanelle (10-3) and Dan Hinkle (11-1) frying out, John Meyer on cashier duty, Cathy Hinkle serving (11-1), and Leigh Duescher setting up (10-12). We will need some more people to help out…please call Al at (920)901-5166 to help out. We agreed on profits to be divided as such: 30% general fund, 30% savings, and 40% thrivent fund.
Maritime Museum will be holding its Watershed Summer Camp—open for 5th through 8th graders! Sign up now and FOBR will pay for your kids to attend this great camp…info on their webpage; I believe its 3 whole days. Questions, contact Emily.
John Meyer was out pulling garlic mustard and Hempton Lake Rd landfill refused to take it.. he is contacting DNR to understand what is ok to go to landfills. Maybe we could laminate them some pictures of acceptable “invasives” so there won’t be future issues?
Brian Stanelle attended a Water Action Volunteer training day in Wild Rose on May 11. He learned a great deal about water quality testing techniques and will briefly discuss simple techniques Saturday. We will also be pulling out invertebrates and comparing them with a chart from the program that indicates what quality of water they are living in.
