Grilled Herb Mustard Steaks
2 well-trimmed boneless beef top loin or rib eye steaks, cut 1 inch thick (approximately 1 pound)
2 large cloves garlic, crushed
2 tsp water
2 Tbsp Dijon mustard
1 tsp dried basil leaves
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp dried thyme leaves
salt (to taste)
Combine garlic and water in a cup and microwave on HIGH for 30 seconds. Mix garlic cloves, Dijon mustard, basil leaves, pepper and thyme leaves and stir into
garlic/water mixture. Spread onto both sides of beef steaks. Place steaks on grill grate over medium,
ash-covered coals. Grill top loin steaks, uncovered, 15 to 18 minutes (rib eye steaks 11 to 14 minutes) for medium rare to medium doneness, turning occasionally. Season steaks with salt, as desired. Carve steaks crosswise into thick slices. 4 servings.
