On Thursday June 20, 2019, the Conservation Education Inc. broke ground for their new Nature Center at the Neustadter Nature Center at Collins Marsh. It was a project that took a long time coming, and with the help of many groups, and the State, ground was finally broken. The new Nature Center Naturalist is James Downy and he took over for the former naturalist Adam Van De Ven who help start the project along with the hard work of Sister Loretta of Silver Lake College. Dave Isajiw is the builder, from Dave’s Home Builders, of Reedsville, WI, Dan Dufek, President of the Manitowoc County Fish & Game Prot. Assn. was representing the group who made a large donation to the project. Steve Easterly represented the Wisconsin Dept. of Natural Resources and the State helped with the plans and lay-out of the new building. Conservation Education is planning on a Fall Dedication for the new building. The public is always welcome to the nature center and please look at their web page www.collinsmarsh.org/ or you can email them at: [email protected].
