Female Hunters Get a Seat at the Fire

Female Hunters Get a Seat at the Fire

ScentLok sponsors “Women Who Hunt,” a new podcast featuring three passionate female hunters

MUSKEGON, Mich. (August 12, 2026) – Podcasts have become the modern version of the deer camp bull session — honest, unfiltered, and available whenever you want to tune in. It’s not a small trend, either. More than 584 million people listen worldwide, and in the U.S. alone, roughly 158 million tune in monthly, spending an average of seven hours a week with their favorite shows. For hunters and anglers, podcasts have turned into one of the best ways to swap stories and learn from people who’ve actually been there.

One group getting louder in that conversation: women. They’re the fastest-growing demographic in hunting and fishing right now, and more than half say they want to spend even more time in the woods and on the water. ScentLok, a brand built on helping hunters succeed in the field with premier scent control technologies, is proud to help amplify that momentum by sponsoring a new podcast built specifically around those voices.

Scent control isn’t a nice-to-have out there, it’s the difference between a deer that never knows you’re in the woods and one that blows out before you draw back. That’s what ScentLok’s carbon technologies, including its patented Carbon Alloy™ and Cold Fusion Carbon™, are built to deliver: trapping and neutralizing odor at a level ordinary gear can’t touch. It’s that same commitment to getting hunters closer to game that made backing a show built around real hunters, telling real stories, an easy call.

Meghan Krohn

Introducing Women Who Hunt

Women Who Hunt brings together three hunters — Meghan Krohn, Raegan Cox and Courtney Kaufmann — who each found their way into the outdoors on very different paths, but landed in the same place: a genuine, hard-earned passion for hunting, fishing and everything that comes with that lifestyle.

“With this podcast, we get the opportunity to connect with other women who are established in this industry and work together to help other women, too,” said Krohn. “We’ll get into some of the barriers that women can face getting into hunting.”

Meet the Hosts

Meghan Krohn grew up in Indiana and now lives in Wisconsin, surrounded by some of the best whitetail country in the Midwest. She’s spent 15 years in the outdoor industry and currently serves as marketing manager for FeraDyne Outdoors, parent company to perennial hunting brands like Block and GlenDel Targets, Rage broadheads, AXE Crossbows, Tru-Fire releases, Nocturnal Lighted Nocks, and more.

“Hunting has always been in my blood, but it hasn’t always been my passion,” Krohn said. “I’ve absorbed a lot of knowledge from the people I work with — it’s their passion, their lifestyle — and I really took that in to find my own place in this sport. Whatever you call it, sport, hobby, passion, it’s a lifestyle for me now, and I’m forever grateful to be in this industry.”

Raegan Cox

Raegan Cox is a west Michigan native who carried the same discipline that helped her tag big whitetails into a college soccer career at Michigan State. She now handles social media marketing for NEXUS Outdoors, ScentLok’s parent company.

“Growing up, I always hunted with my mom, dad and brother,” Cox said. “It’s a family tradition — hunting, fishing, they’re the ones who showed me the ropes.”

Courtney Kaufmann

Courtney Kaufmann lives in northeast Illinois and has bow hunted since high school, though her path there wasn’t a straight line. Both of her grandfathers hunted, but she didn’t grow up around it. She reconnected with the outdoors as a freshman in high school after meeting her now-husband, whose entire family hunted.

“I was hooked right away,” Kaufmann said. “Now it’s a passion in our home, and we love doing it. I couldn’t imagine giving it up. It’s one of my favorite things.”
