FAMILY DAY AT THE DODGE PRESERVE WAS A HUGE SUCCESS FOR THE FRIENDS OF THE BRANCH RIVER WATERSHED

Family Day at the Dodge Preserve was a big success. The children had a ball catching the crayfish and learning about river life.  Thank you to all the people who came out to see the program. Ann did a wonderful job explaining how Monarchs live and the children had a chance to plant milkweed seed to help the Monarchs.  Just a note to all of you parents out there,  the Friends of the Branch River Watershed is the only club belonging to the Manitowoc County Fish & Game Prot. Assn. that works with children ages of 1 years old to 18. They are educating our youth today on the environment and how they can make the difference in the years to come. Together with the work of other clubs as they grow older can they understand why conservation is so important in their lives. The smart thing to do is start them younger. To all of you reading this, if you are a parent with children, or grandparents who would like to see the child learn something about the outdoors, you really need to join and work with the Friends of the Branch River Watershed now. Everything is geared towards the children. If you would like more information, please contact Emily Endter at 920-323-3486 or Al Klingeisen at 920-901-5166.   They also offer scholarships as the children grow older and they also have summer camp scholarships available if I remember correctly. Please give them a call.
