Subject: Cancelled April & May Unit Meetings
The Manitowoc Unit of Manitowoc County Fish & Game announced that due to CDC guidelines to limit group meetings of 50 or more and control the spread of Covid-19, it is cancelling both its April 2nd and May 7th meetings. Manitowoc Fish & Game works to promote and protect the rights of sporting men and women in the county through a variety of projects and education programming. It is one of 25 clubs that work together in Manitowoc County.
The Manitowoc Unit also announced that it will postpone its special Fish Fry event scheduled for April 3rd at 7 Lakes Golf and Dining. They hope to reschedule this event for Fall and the special raffle that has been offered will be extended to that event. “The health of our members and community are priority one right now,” said Dean Halverson, Secretary of the Manitowoc Unit. “Once we get past this crisis we will gather and celebrate the great work of sporting men and women in this area.” Announcements regarding future meetings will be made as information becomes available.
The Manitowoc Unit meets the first Thursday of each month and meetings are open to the public. Those interested in the outdoors and especially youth are encouraged to attend these meetings. There is a speaker or presentation each meeting, followed by a short business meeting. Lunch and refreshments are then available.
