Conservation groups from around the State of Wisconsin met on January 7th for a Lobby Day with our Legislators. Beside local state groups, there was National groups also involved in Lobby Day. It was good to be able to speak to all those legislators who make the laws of our state and allow us the sportsmen and women to give them our opinions on what laws are good and bad. Every group of people who speak to the legislators always try to prove why their points are in the best interest of the public, yet the sportsmen and women came with proven facts, scientific facts to support their comments. Next year, that a day off of work to attend the Lobby Day, like many of those in the photo above did. Do not be afraid to contact your legislators, they work for you and me, so call them, explain to them your problem or comments. One last thing for all of you to do, join a sportsman club in your area, please. And bring your kids with you so they can learn about nature first hand, not through some computer program.
