On Friday I received a copy of a magazine from the IDAHO Wild Sheep Foundation Winter 2025 issue with a photo of Kenia Link on the cover with her Big Horn Sheep she harvested. Kenia has an article in the magazine on page 90, and it is so wonderfully written it held me glued to my seat about the hunt.
Kenia had applied for a permit many years before when she was old yet to hunt out there in Idaho. Here is how she started her story. “This tag, and opportunity is a once in a thousand lifetimes chance. There is only one non-resident tag for this unit given out per year, and that one non-resident was me. I was ecstatic when I got the news that I had drawn the Idaho Unit 11 Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep tag. I had been putting in for this tag since I was old enough to. The odds are very slim to draw, but you cannot win if you do not play the game.”
