YOUR HELP IS NEEDED NOW PLEASE, READ AND CONTACT THE FOLLOWING PEOPLE LISTED

We intercept our well-intentioned plans to educate you slowly and carefully about the proposed sanctuary with this news flash!

On Monday, June 10th, two of our supporters met with Governor Evers to present our position against the proposed sanctuary.

We emphasized the major reasons:

(1) He would be ceding his power and autonomy to control Lake Michigan water under the Great Lakes Compact to federal bureaucrats who have no accountability to the citizens of Wisconsin.

(2) The regulations are broad, vague and burdensome.  They would involve permits, prohibitions, and additional bureaucracy for local government for activities on Lake Michigan presently enjoyed.  Citizens and local officials will be upset.

(3) For the sanctuary to function it is an unfunded mandate.  NOAA has money only for “exhibits, kiosks and signage.”1  It has no money to protect the shipwrecks, and any additional programs as well will come from state funds and funds from other local “partners.”

Governor Evers was well informed and engaged.  He gave us 40 minutes.  He asked pointed questions.  He told us he would make the decision in the next week or two.

Accordingly, for those of you who are against the sanctuary. . .  Now is the time to call or email Gov. Evers!  It is do or die time folks.
