For sampling we have several kiosks set up in the county. You can use this link if you want otherwise the Manitowoc County sites are below. For a buck we recommend taking it to the taxidermist first to have it caped then give us a call, we can work with the head after the hide has been removed. If its European mount we can take the sample whenever. You’ll need to tell who ever does the work you would like the deer tested so they don’t remove too much before we get the deer. There are instructions inside each kiosk, but yes all we need is the head with roughly 3”-4” of the neck so we are assured of getting to the lymph nodes. There’s a short form at each kiosk and we’ll need that filled out and placed inside the bag (also on the kiosk) with the head so it does not get mixed up with other heads. For the form we need the hunters name and DNR customer number, phone number, and authorization tag number. This is the one that appears on the tag. We also need the harvest location info. We are asking for the county, town, range, section or the Latitude and Longitude of the harvest. Either is fine, just so we know where it was taken. Our goal is 300 per county, and our efforts will be in 2020 and 2021.
