Thanks for taking a moment to update yourself on what’s going on with your Association. A huge thanks to all of the incredible volunteers who worked so hard over last weekend, to make the decoy carving contest and calling championships came to life. I’m sure I won’t hit everyone, but here’s a call-out to the Marshland Chapter, folks from the West Allis and Midland Wings Chapters, many of our state-board directors, my amazing staff partners, and numerous other volunteers who made it happen! Staffers at Cabela’s commented to me several times, how fortunate WWA is to have such dedicated volunteers, and they were right on the mark!
Kudos also to our Wausau team. They hosted their third dinner banquet last week, with a challenging move to a summer Saturday, but they kept their attendance steady, and completed another solid event, in addition to their AWA efforts and Calendar selling works.
This Saturday we’ve got the 19th Annual State Shoot, then next week comes the West Bend/Midland Wings banquet, then we finish out the month with our “Hunter’s Eve Bash” with its TRUCK GIVE AWAY on the 30th.
Please make plans to join us for the Bash – we’ve got a great lineup of prizes, a quick & dirty format that will take only a couple hours, at a beautiful venue, out at Waverly Beach in Menasha (on the shore of Lake Winnebago). It should be a great way to enjoy one of the last nights of summer before Labor Day weekend! Register in advance for just $25, only $20 if you attended ANY of this year’s shoots! If you still have truck raffle tickets to sell, please push hard, and get your stubs and monies Kelcy, by the 24th at the latest. We sold more than 140 this weekend during Waterfowl Weekend at Cabela’s in Richfield alone! Congratulations to the Chilton chapter, who had two entries into the drawing Monday the 13th (extended from the original date of 7/30) for the awesome seller’s prize of: 2 Cabela’s rocking chairs/ 1 folding table/soft cooler/lantern, 2 FA small field bags, 2 WWA logo caps of your choosing, & 2 FREE entries to the WWA Hunter’s Eve Bash event at Waverly Beach, August 30th.
Tom and I have made the initial distribution of 2019 Conservation Calendars, last month, through this weekend. If you would like to be a seller, and have a chance at all the great awards, please let me know, and I can get you set up. Also, if you or your chapter is selling, and has Calendars in a business location, please let me know between now, and 8/28, as we’ll post a listing in our next big e-mail blast, going out the morning of Friday the 31st, to more than 14K valid email addresses of our members & friends.
Although December seems a long way off, it’ll be here before you know it and we’re seeking to finalize our fundraising and outreach event plans for the balance of 2018, and even any plans for January of 2019. If your team is looking to host an event yet this year, and we’ve not talked about a date and a plan yet, please reach out to Tom or me, we’d be happy to help you get rolling. It will be important, this year, to get ahead of Tom’s North Dakota trip, 9/28-10/7, with any print plans, so we’ve got enough spread, ahead of the holidays, for those to be built, assembled and mailed at discount rates.
Thanks so much, for all you do for our Association! See you on the water, Don |
