Today’s Vignette: “What are the sturgeon eating this season?”
Each spearing season DNR staff collect stomachs from 80-100 sturgeon that are harvested from the Winnebago System. We look at the diet items present in each stomach to monitor foraging trends of fish within the population. Today’s vignette describes results of the stomach analysis that was recently completed for the 2019 sturgeon spearing season.
