The Manitowoc Unit of Fish & Game announces that their upcoming August meeting will be held on the Second Wednesday of the month, on Wednesday, November 9th, 2022.  It should be noted that the November and December meetings of the organization are held at the Manitowoc Gun Club, located in the Newton area on Clover Road.  This is recognition of the partnership the Gun Club has with the Manitowoc Unit.  There will be open trap shooting available before the meeting.

The speaker for the November meeting will be the Collin Sherod, Manitowoc County Game Warden.  The Manitowoc Unit has traditionally hosted the local game warden in November to discuss the upcoming gun deer season and the early results of the bow hunting season in the area.  This meeting is open to the public and there will be time for questions with the warden.

The Manitowoc Unit is also continuing their supporting the Cops & Bobbers program conducted by the Sheriff’s Department.  This is a program is to create stronger relationships between targeted youth and the Sheriff’s Department, improving community awareness.  They continue collecting fishing equipment at their meetings for the rest of the year.  Over 15 rods have been donated. They are mainly looking for are rods and reels but items such as bobbers would also be helpful (NO bait caster reels please).  Gently used equipment is welcome.  All meetings are open to the public.

Manitowoc Fish & Game works to promote and protect the rights of sporting men and women in the county through a variety of projects and education programming.  It has supported a number of youth projects in the past.
