Sturgeon Bay Open Bass Tournament 2019 decided by 24 hundredths of a pound
Their 26.57 pound day one total had Korey Sprengel and Ryan Dempsey in fourth place about a pound and a half out of first place in the 2019 Sturgeon Bay Open Bass Tournament. Day two had the walleye specialists within striking distance. Sprengel has fished the SBOBT a handful of years recently but never in a podium finish. Dempsey had never fished a single bass tournament in his life.
After a great day of fishing on Saturday Sprengel and Dempsey knew they were close to a winning weight. The final team to weigh in would wind up 24 hundredths of a pound off the lead. Shaun Kruzitski and Jason Corrao placed second in the tournament with an overall weight of 52.20 pounds and Sprengel and Dempster held them off with a weight of 52.49 pounds (10 fish – 2 days) to take the $45,000 cash and prize payout including a Ranger Boat and Mercury Motor.
