State Rep. Paul Tittl was appointed Chair of this committee.

If you have not heard yet, I was appointed to be Chair of the Legislative Council Study Committee on Sandhill Cranes. The Committee will be reviewing and recommending option related to the management of Wisconsin’s sandhill crane population.

The population of sandhill cranes that call Wisconsin home has:
Doubled in last decade,
Exceeded the U.S. Fish and Wild Life Service (USFWS) upper population goal by nearly 100%, and
Averaged a 4.4% annual growth and 30% increase in growth since 2017.

This committee will undertake a thorough, science-based examination of this important issue, and I look forward to working with my legislative colleagues and members of the public to ensure that all viewpoints of this topic are considered.
