Record Gun Sales – “Unprecedented” Demand for Self-Defense, Training & Legal Protection

Pandemic & Continued Civil Unrest Has More Americans Embracing Self-Defense
WEST BEND, WI – Echoing a recent report by the National Shooting Sports Foundation, which found that nearly 5 million Americans have purchased firearms for the first-time this year, the U.S. Concealed Carry Association (USCCA) said today there also continues to be unprecedented demand for self-defense training, education and legal protection resources. The USCCA now boasts more than 450,000 members after experiencing an all-time record month of membership sales in June with July continuing the momentum with the second all-time record high.
“It speaks volumes that during these uncertain times, record numbers of Americans are embracing their Second Amendment rights and choosing to be the protectors for their families, friends, and neighbors,” said Tim Schmidt, president and founder of the USCCA. “But more importantly, people are not turning a blind eye to the incredible responsibility that comes with owning a firearm. We are encouraged by the surge in membership we’re seeing and an unprecedented demand for training, education and legal protection for American gun owners across the country.”
Even prior to the coronavirus outbreak, the USCCA, which provides self-defense training and legal protection to responsible gun owners, experienced more than 30 percent year-over-year growth since 2016. That growth has also meant an increase in jobs in southeastern Wisconsin. The USCCA now employs more than 300 people and experienced a 39 percent increase in total employees in 2019. That trend has continued into the first half of 2020.
The USCCA provides self-defense education, training and legal protection to responsible American gun owners. Headquartered in West Bend, Wisconsin, the USCCA is the largest and fastest-growing association whose sole focus is the responsibly armed American.
