One man who filed suit, Donta Lucas, 34, claims he couldn’t get a job as a security guard because he was denied a concealed carry license for a gun as a result of his name being in the database. The gang label, he claims, is false. |

A quarter of Illinois’ county governments have passed resolutions declaring their county a “gun sanctuary,” including those in Brown and Greene counties. |

The shooting has reignited the debate over gun control across the country. Last week, Toronto city council approved a motion urging the federal government to ban handgun sales in the city, and calling on the province to outlaw the sale of handgun ammunition in Toronto. |
