On February 14th, the Washington state Senate Committee on Law & Justice will be hearing Senate Bill 5434 that would expand arbitrary zones where law-abiding citizens are left defenseless while nothing is done to hinder criminals. Originally scheduled to be heard on February 11th, inclement weather forced the hearing to be rescheduled. The House Committee on Civil Rights & Judiciary is still scheduled to hear the companion House Bill 1530 on February 13th. |

Today, the much anticipated bill to “fix” the flawed background check initiative from the 2016 election was introduced. It is now Senate Bill 143. As previously reported, a joint judiciary committee hearing has been scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday, February 12th at 8:00AM in Carson City. |

On Tuesday, February 12, the Senate Finance Committee will hear one of the Governor Gina Raimondo’s budget proposals which includes an additional 10 percent excise tax on all firearms and ammunition, raising the total tax to 17 percent. |

On February 11th, Senate Bill 150 was introduced to ensure that any law-abiding adult who may legally possess a firearm may carry a handgun for self-defense without first having to go through government red tape. SB 150 is scheduled to be heard in the Kentucky state Senate Veterans, Military Affairs, & Public Protection Committee on February 14th. |

Tomorrow, the House Consumer and Public Safety Committee is scheduled to hear gun control legislation, House Bill 130. |

On February 13th, the New Hampshire state House Criminal Justice and Public Safety Committee will be hearing two gun control bills that would impose onerous restrictions on the rights of New Hampshire gun owners and sportsmen. House Bill 109-FN would effectively criminalize almost all private firearm transfers and House Bill 514-FN would impose a seven business day waiting period on firearm and ammunition sales. |
