Northeast will have our Oct. Meeting on Thursday Oct. 25th at 7 pm at City Limits. The Fish & Game is holding their banquet on the third Thursday , so we are moving our meeting and smoke fish contest one week later. The club raffle and lunch will follow the meeting and we will eat the smoke fish entries.
PROGRAM: Executive Director Jim Nicklebine, of Woodland Dunes will give a presentation on the restoration of “Forgot Me Not Creek”. That is the small stream that enter Lake Michigan just south of Aurora Hospital on Memorial Drive.Years ago it was a major spawning stream for Northern Pike and Suckers. SMOKE FISH CONTEST ON OCTOBER 25TH.: The club will again be hosting the annual SMOKE FISH and SMOKE FISH SPREAD CONTEST. So get your time line set to smoke your fish and make your spreads. All entrants must smoke their own fish and be one of the five species of Lake Michigan trout and salmon, Lake Trout, Rainbow Trout, Coho Salmon and Chinook Salmon. 3 Cash Prizes will be awarded in both categories, Smoke Fish and Smoke Fish Spread. 1st – $35.00, 2nd – $25.00 3rd – $15.00. See you there and get ready to sample a few great tasting fish.
