MidwayUSA Foundation Provides Cash Grants
|
Columbia, MO – The MidwayUSA Foundation is thrilled to announce their largest cash grant payout to youth shooting teams. Over $3.4 million in cash grants have been distributed to 951 youth shooting teams across the country. These funds are critical to every team, assisting in covering expenses such as ammunition, targets, travel, entry fees, and team gear.
“I am elated to see more and more teams requesting their cash grants year-over-year. As we see more teams requesting grants, we’re also seeing larger grant amounts being paid. More than $21 million in cash grants have been paid to youth shooting teams over the life of the Foundation. These grants make a direct impact on our kid’s lives by directly paying for their expenses, allowing many to shoot and compete when they wouldn’t be able to otherwise,” stated G. Scott Reynolds, MidwayUSA Foundation Executive Director. In the past five years, youth shooting teams applying for MidwayUSA Foundation cash grants have grown 45% and the dollars paid to teams have increased by 77%. This growth is a true testament of the commitment the MidwayUSA Foundation has to the future of the youth shooting sports industry.
The MidwayUSA Foundation offers participating teams many ways to increase their annual cash grant. Teams can receive free products to conduct fundraisers, use a Peer-to-Peer platform to get the entire team fundraising, and every team can receive tax deductible donations right through the Foundation’s website. Additionally, all donations are matched through the MidwayUSA Foundation Matching Program, funded by Larry and Brenda Potterfield, owners of MidwayUSA. Teams with a $2,000 endowment balance, or more, are eligible to apply annually for a cash grant of 5% of their endowment balance.
The MidwayUSA Foundation is a 501(c)(3) public charity working to sustain the shooting sports industry by providing long-term funding to youth shooting teams. Every donation made is tax-deductible and allows the Foundation to assist in expanding and enhancing the leadership skills, confidence, and discipline of today’s youth through shooting sports activities. The Foundation supports all shooting disciplines.
