Subject:     Manitowoc Unit September Meeting

 

The Manitowoc Unit of Fish & Game announces that their upcoming August meeting will be held on the Second Wednesday of the month, on Wednesday, September 14th, 2022.  The meetings will continue to begin at 7pm, Lincoln Park, Cabin #1, continuing a long-standing relationship with the City of Manitowoc and that facility.

 

The speaker for the August meeting will be Jim Knickelbine from Woodland Dunes who will update the club on activities at their properties.  The Manitowoc Unit has also announced that it is supporting the Cops & Bobbers program conducted by the Sheriff’s Department.  This is a program is to create stronger relationships between targeted youth and the Sheriff’s Department, improving community awareness.  They are going to be collecting fishing equipment at their meetings for the rest of the year.  They are mainly looking for are rods and reels but items such as bobbers would also be helpful (NO bait caster reels please).  Gently used equipment is welcome.  All meetings are open to the public.

 

Manitowoc Fish & Game works to promote and protect the rights of sporting men and women in the county through a variety of projects and education programming.  It has supported a number of youth projects in the past. It is one of 25 clubs that work together in Manitowoc County.  The group was founded in 1907 and is recognized as one of the oldest known conservation groups in the nation.  They celebrate 115 years of service in September.
