Subject:     Manitowoc Unit Lenten Fish Fry

The Manitowoc Unit of Fish & Game completed its first meeting Wednesday, January 12th, representing the move from its traditional first Thursday to second Wednesday of the month. The first guest speaker was Curtis Hall, Manitowoc Parks and Recreation Division Manager, who provided an update on activities and plans for parks in the City of Manitowoc along with sharing the Master Plan for Lincoln Park Zoo.  Lincoln Park is of particular interest and history to Manitowoc Fish & Game, who was actually instrumental in the purchase of the park’s property when founded.  There is a long history of partnership that the Manitowoc Unit is now seeking to renew and refresh.  Future discussions will look for partnering opportunities moving forward.

At the meeting, the club also announced that it will be holding its Lenten Fish Fry Fundraiser, scheduled for 7 Lakes Golf and Dining on April 8th, 2022.  Seven Lakes and select partners will be making donations to the Manitowoc Unit for every meal ordered that evening, including their popular seafood buffet.  There will also be a special raffle with a handmade fishing combo and numerous other prizes.  Other live raffles will also be part of the program.  The event was cancelled last year due to the pandemic.  Reservations can me made by calling 920-775-4000 and noting you are with Fish & Game.  Proceeds generated support the various conservation programs and activities of the Manitowoc Unit.

Manitowoc Fish & Game works to promote and protect the rights of sporting men and women in the county through a variety of projects and education programming.  It is one of 25 clubs that work together in Manitowoc County.  The group was founded in 1907 and is recognized as one of the oldest known conservation groups in the nation.
