MANITOWOC – While a lot of attention is often focused on Lake Michigan and the shoreline that Manitowoc County shares in, there are also more than a dozen other lakes throughout the county.

Lake Michigan is one of five Great Lakes, all located in the Midwest. Altogether, the Great Lakes contain roughly 20% of the surface freshwater supply.

Of the five lakes, Lake Michigan is the second deepest, at 925 feet. Lake Superior is the deepest at 1,332 feet.

However, Manitowoc County is home to 16 other lakes, all teeming with life and providing invaluable source of fishing and recreation to thousands of residents and visitors.
