Managing Odor from the Shack to the Stand

Second stage of ScentLok’s Complete Odor Management begins as you head into the woods.

MUSKEGON, Mich. (November 16, 2023) – When last we met, the truck was parked and outerwear being donned a stone’s throw away to avoid picking up whiffs of exhaust and city life. Whitetail geek and ScentLok Marketing Manager Steve Allie takes layering very seriously, especially when it comes to making your way to the stand. “A lot of hunters put on their complete outwear set before taking a step into the woods,” says Allie. “That’s a mistake. And it might sound elementary but steer clear of your shooting area, too. Again, it’s about not getting detected.”

Allie goes on to say exiting is equally as important. “You for sure don’t want wind blowing into known bedding areas. That can really disrupt their behavior and ruin the next day’s hunt.”
