• Maribel Sportsman’s Club’s fall hunter safety course will be Thursdays Aug. 16 and 23 from 6 to 9 p.m. and finish up on Saturday, Aug. 25, from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.
Cost is $10 per person and adults are also welcome to take the course.

• Maribel Sportsman’s Club will offer Range Safety Officer Taining – NRA Certification from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Aug. 18 at the club, 8824 State 147, Maribel.
Cost of the training is free to Active Hunter Education Instructors (Note: If not an NRA member, participants must pay the extra $20 certification fee to the NRA). The general public is welcome to attend, but would be responsible for the NRA fees associated with the training, which amount to $130-$150 depending on NRA membership.

The NRA Range Safety Officer (RSO) program was developed in response to the demand for a nationally recognized range safety officer certification. To become an NRA Range Safety Officer, one must pass the RSO course and demonstrate the knowledge, skills and attitude essential to organizing, conducting and supervising safe shooting activities and range operations.
Hunter Education Instructors will receive credit toward their continuing education upon successful completion of the course.
• Northeast Wisconsin Youth Shooting Program, Inc., will hold its last shoot of the summer Aug. 2 at Maribel Sportsman’s Club. Shooting starts at 5 p.m. and goes until each youngster age 18 and younger has had a chance to shoot. Participants will get a free round of targets and a free box of shells to shoot the round.
