Welcome to an early edition of the Outdoor Report! With Thanksgiving ahead, we are sending out the weekly newsletter a little early to ensure you’re prepared for the extended weekend.
Remember: gun deer season continues across Wisconsin through the upcoming weekend. Even if you’re not a hunter, if you’re out on public land, it is recommended that you wear blaze orange or fluorescent pink to help make you more visible and help keep everyone safe.

Find Your Adventure With The 2023 State Park Pass
Beginning Friday, Nov. 25, annual admission stickers for 2023 will be available for purchase!
In this season of giving, an annual admission sticker or trail pass makes for the perfect present, unwrapping opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to enjoy Wisconsin’s big backyard every day of the year.
The 2023 stickers and passes for admission to parks, forests, recreation areas and trails are valid from the date of purchase through Dec. 31, 2023.
Vehicle admission passes provide access to more than 60 state parks, forests and recreation areas across Wisconsin. They are required on all motor vehicles visiting state parks and recreation areas. Some state forest and trail parking areas also require the annual sticker or daily admission pass.
An admission sticker costs $28 for Wisconsin residents or $38 for non-residents.

DNR Offers Free Tree Seedlings For Wisconsin Fourth Graders
Since 1984, Wisconsin fourth grade students have been eligible to receive a free tree seedling from the DNR reforestation program to complement their Arbor Day observations.
The application period for the “2022-23 Arbor Day Free Tree Seedlings for Wisconsin Fourth Graders” is now open. School principals, fourth grade teachers and fourth grade homeschool parents are encouraged to visit this DNR webpage to order seedlings for Wisconsin fourth grade students.
The seedlings will be shipped next spring in time for Arbor Day celebrations. They come with a protective bag and instructions on how to plant and care for them. |
