Gamakatsu’s Nautilus Line Conquers Pelagic Bruisers

Tacoma, Washington (September 29, 2020) -Gamakatsu designed the hooks in the Nautilus series with inspiration from the pelagic mollusk of the same name. The engineers drew on the shape of the shellfish to develop one of the meanest circle hooks to ever hit the deep. For live bait or chunks, fresh or salt, Gamakatsu’s Nautilus circles are the hooks of choice for seasoned captains.
The Nautilus hook features Gamakatsu’s proven circle geometry, with an offset point designed to increase hook ups. Built with a high-carbon content, the forged construction lends strength to the hook so you can take on big fish with confidence. The closed eye lends itself to variety of rigging methods and leader materials so you can offer the correct presentation for the situation, with live or cut bait. From catfish to school tuna, the Nautilus gets it done.
Those targeting the largest predators will want to rig up using the Nautilus Circle HD, which features 30% heavier wire than the regular Nautilus. The larger wire stands up to the rigors of blue water fishing, taming drag-peeling tuna during the most blistering of runs. So go ahead and downsize your hook to capitalize on a finicky bite- the HD can handle it.
To get the maximum action out of live baits, both the Nautilus and Nautilus HD come in ringed versions. The solid one-piece ring allows live baits to swim more freely, adding more enticing action to trigger strikes from even neutral fish. And because they’re less encumbered, baits stay frisky longer so you can spend more time fishing and less time re-baiting. And the smooth, solid ring has no protrusions or rough spots to wear on the line, ensuring the line stays strong throughout the most protracted battles. The ring also gives you an edge during the fight, turning to maintain a straight, direct pull on the fish.
Both the Nautilus and the Nautilus HD version are coated with Gamakatsu’s proprietary NS Black finish, which offers a stealthy presentation to stay hidden from the oversized eyes of pelagic game fish. The NS Black finish also repels the corrosive effects of saltwater, preventing the high carbon hooks from rusting. Whether you’re hitting the river for monster sturgeon, muddy ponds for giant cats, or the bluewater for pelagic bruisers, the hooks in Gamakatsu’s Nautilus line provide the perfect balance of strength and finesse.
