We held our annual membership luncheon and meeting at Branch Station 12/9/23. Thank you to all who joined us, paid dues, and enjoyed the delicious food. Thank you to our donors as well—Kwik Trip, Country Visions Co-Op, Wildcats Saloon, Rob’s Family Market, His n Hers, Festival Foods, Fleet Farm. A special thank you to Eileen Mleziva for working on collecting those gift cards!
We had a special guest- the new Executive Director of LNRP—Mike Mullen! Welcome Mike on your new adventure! We are glad you could join us! Can you connect with me on the bare root tree stock through Sheboygan County that we were discussing?
2024 events:
*Tree orders will be due end of February. FOBR will allow 5 free trees/order. If you want to purchase more, Al will pick up for you.
- www.sheboygancountytrees.com February 28, 2024, is order deadline but lots sell out; Al would like your orders early Feb. although it is first come, first serve so many varieties will sell out well before then (mail in orders will no longer be accepted)
- Pickup dates= April 25, 26 & 27, 2024.
*Bluebird house painting project at Woodland Dunes (Emily reached out for available dates/times today)
*Bridge Crossing clean-ups (19 total)—end of April, dates TBD, this is a big event and lots of help is needed! We will have a raindate as well.
*July Brat fry (Al was planning on trying to get July 5) We NEED lots of help!! Older kids are MORE THAN WELCOME!! Even a 2 hour shift is always welcome! Call Al to sign-up, questions, etc (920)901-5166.
*Crayfish collections—TBD—Emily will try to have at least 2 and we will donate some to Wildlife of WI
*Al’s Pond day—July date TBD- possibly have Eliza help out with ID’ing wildlife
*Watch for nature/conservation camps to open!! I found a great one at Barkhausen Waterfowl Preserve in Suamico. Camp dates open Jan 22 I believe at www.browncountyparks.org with 5-9 yr old camps as well as 10-13 yr olds. Let us know and we will reimburse for these! Woodland Dunes also has AMAZING daycamps but they FILL FAST.
