Hi all!
We met on a chilly evening at Branch Station and enjoyed some delicious food prior to getting down to business.
Leigh and I are re-vamping our flyer; condensing, updating, and hopefully getting it set for display at our next upcoming events.
Our next event will be held at Woodland Dunes Nature Center in Two Rivers on Sunday March 2 from 1 – 3 pm. We need your RSVP’s for planning purposes; please either do so on here, find the link on Facebook, or let Al or I know. Mike Duescher was able to get shrinkable plastic wrap for covering tables– thank you Mike!
If you know you’ll be able to help us out too, PLEASE let me know! A big thank you to Bob Schuh for his hard work putting together the bird houses! One last ask of everyone; if you have some plastic containers (yogurt, sour cream, etc you could clean out and save, please let me know!! I’d definitely take some for dividing paint up on tables. Thank you Woodland Dunes for allowing us to hold this event at your beautiful facility! Hopefully weather cooperates and people will take advantage of some of the trails on the property as well!
Annual Branch River bridge crossing clean-up will be held on 4/12 with raindate of 4/26. We will meet in Taus Town Hall parking lot. Reminder to bring work gloves, dress for the weather! If we get enough people together, it will go quickly. Please RSVP to this email; I still have to create the Facebook event yet but do so on there if you are on Facebook. Otherwise, call Al too (number below). If you have or know any high/middle schoolers needing community service, this is a great opportunity. I can type up a summary of duties performed, time spent as well. Suzi Z– once I have event on Facebook, can you share w/ Scouts and possibly have some families help out too?
Al will pick up trees on Thursday, May 1st. More details to follow but make arrangements for pick-up at his house or reach out to Emily as well.
Brat fry. It was approved to still continue this fundraiser. Al NEEDS volunteers. Please bring older kids as well; they are great helpers too. I will have a sign-up sheet along at our next events, meetings too. Event will be on 6/21 from 9-3 ish at Rob’s Market in Manitowoc. We need fryers, cashiers/servers, clean-up/set-up as well. Let us know what timeframe you are available to help and a phone number to reach. See attached from as well.
Leigh and Mike have been doing water monitoring studies on their property. Leigh reached out to the DNR coordinator of this huge study and she is willing to discuss the findings, trends, explain in easier-to-understand language as to the health of our local watershed! I propose we set another meeting based on her availability so we can get informed of the results of this ongoing project! More details asap.
Financials weren’t discussed at meeting. Al gave me renewed membership forms to update my spreadsheet; please send in your forms to our PO Box asap if still interested. If you want to be removed form this mailing list, etc., please advise as well.
This summer, I will be getting crayfish removal dates out asap with river levels behaving. I will also be working with a scout troup near Waymor Park for one of the set dates but need to figure out details yet.
Next meeting will be determined asap and communicated accordingly via email, FB, and snail mail.
Thanks everyone! Any questions, concerns, etc please reach out!
