2025 Annual Meeting a Success!
Manitowoc County Fish & Game Protective Association held its
Annual Meeting on Thursday, January 30th at City Limits in
Manitowoc. Just over 70 were in attendance. The Annual Meeting is
the only meeting of the board of directors of the organization that is
open to the public.
The meeting featured a range of community and state updates from
members of government and the DNR. This is done to strengthen
the partnerships that develop conservation resources in
Manitowoc County. Manitowoc County Fish & Game was founded
in 1907 and is recognized as one of the oldest conservation groups
in the U.S.
At the meeting, Bill Peroutka was recognized with a Life
Membership to the organization. This is the organization’s highest
award and is only given to members with a strong history of service
to the organization, the community and to
conservation. Bill is a member of the Manitowoc Unit for many
years and supports the club in a variety of ways. Bill has also
helped around the county with special projects and for many years
maintained the public area at the Oslo Dam
property on Hwy S. He is the perfect example of what a Life Member
is!
Dean Halverson was given a special recognition award for his
ongoing service to the organization and to his input, service and
management in bringing the new website together for the
organization. Paul Tuschel of the Banquet Committee presented
the organization with a check for $50,000, representing the
proceeds from the 2024 banquet that was completed in late
October.

Manitowoc Triple Challenge SCTP
Tournament!
Manitowoc Gun Club Does It Again!
May 15th
to 18th marked the Triple challenge event at the
Manitowoc Gun Club. Over 450 youth shooters were
involved in this statewide competition that continues to
shine a spotlight on the great facility and membership of
the Gun Club.
Held in conjunction with Joe’s Clays, the event featured
Trap, Skeet and Sporting Clays shooting and showcased the
Gun Club’s BirdBusters youth shooting program. Teams
came from across the state and this event has generated
statewide focus on the lakeshore area. While weather
created some temporary issues, the event ran smoothly,
providing not only shooting, but a great menu of food and
beverages.
The event requires major planning and partnerships. Title
sponsors, the Sheboygan – Manitowoc Pheasants Forever
Chapter, Calumet County Youth Safety Association and the
Manitowoc County Fish and Game Protective Association,
also made sizable financial donations! Thank you to
Nelson Tactical for use of their trailer. Festival Foods for
donation of food and water, and Manitowoc Ice, for keeping
everything cold. Hundreds of volunteer hours included.
THANK YOU to everyone who participated!
