Continued Action Needed: Firearm Liability Insurance Moving Quickly
NOTE: This is the way Democrats will continue to drive up costs for firearm owners and try to make owning firearms to expensive to own. RV
Not slowing down, yesterday, the Colorado Senate State, Veterans, & Military Affairs Committee passed HB24-1270, legislation requiring firearm owners to maintain additional liability insurance for owning a firearm. HB24-1270 has been sent to the Senate Committee of the Whole.
Please use the Take Action button to email your state Senator and urge him/her to vote “No” on HB24-1270. Gun-control advocates claim that requiring insurance will “promote” responsible firearm ownership. This bill does not promote responsible firearm ownership. Responsible means caring about one’s actions, and those are two words not in a criminal’s vocabulary. The only thing we know HB24-1270 will do is add more costs on the law-abiding for owning a firearm and requiring us to pay for the criminal acts of others.
House Bill 24-1270 requires firearm owners to maintain a liability insurance policy that covers losses or damages to a person, other than the policyholder, who is injured on the insured property as a result of any accidental or unintentional discharge of the firearm.
