Friends of Branch River Watershed will again hold a bluebird house painting for youngsters. It will be at Woodland Dunes Nature Center and Preserve, 3000 Hawthorne Ave., Two Rivers, from 1 to 3 p.m. March 2.
Bluebird houses and painting supplies will be provided.
The event is open to youngsters of all ages.

Clarks Mills statewide fishing derby is March 1-2
Clarks Mills Sportsmans Club will hold its 17th annual statewide fishing derby March 1 and 2.

Weigh-in is prior to 7 p.m. March 1 and final weigh-in is before 3 p.m. March 2.
Register at Popp’s Harbor Town, Klein’s Hardware Hank, Spudz and Schuh Factory.
Entry fee is $5 for kids and adults.
A sheepshead card tournament will also be held at noon March 1 at the club, just west of Clarks Mills.
Food and refreshments will be available all weekend.

Lakes Association meeting is Feb. 27
Manitowoc County Lakes Association will hold its next meeting at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 27.
The meeting will be in Room 300 of the Manitowoc County Office Building, 4319 Expo Drive, Manitowoc.
A status update on the Carstens Lake project will be provided by Amy Lentz from LNRP and either Sarah Majerus or Aaron Volkening from Stantec.
Issues covering Manitowoc County lakes are always the group’s top concern.
Challenge the Outdoors’ Sporting Clays Shoot/Fundraiser is April 12
Challenge the Outdoors, Inc., which provides hunting, fishing and other recreational opportunities for individuals with disabilities, will hold its 27th annual Sporting Clays Shoot/Fundraiser April 12 at J&H Game Farm, west of Navarino.
Shooting is from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 12, $30 for the first round of 50 targets and $25 for additional rounds. Complimentary lunch is included, featuring brats, hot dogs and more.
The event also includes a main raffle and bucket raffle with a variety of outdoor and sporting equipment available.

GLC offers spring work days in April, May
Glacial Lakes Conservancy reminds everyone its upcoming spring work days are a chance to step into nature and lend a helping hand.
Whether looking to get out in the community or just love spending time outdoors, all are welcome to join on the following dates:
- April 19, noon to 3 p.m., at Willow Creek Preserve in Sheboygan;
- May 3, 9 a.m. to noon, at Grasshopper Hill Preserve in Elkhart Lake; and
- May 4, 1-4 p.m., at Hunner Preserve in Tish Mills.
With activities ranging from picking up garbage, pulling or cutting invasive species, and trail upkeep, there’s something for everyone.

DNR seeks public input on wildlife program strategic plan
Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is drafting a strategic plan for managing the state’s wildlife species and habitat and is seeking public feedback on the plan’s objectives.
The strategic plan will guide how the DNR’s Wildlife Program prioritizes its resources and work in the coming years.
For more about the strategic planning process and to participate in the public input opportunity, visit the DNR’s Wildlife Management Strategic Plan Updates webpage. The webpage explains the planning process, contains a link to the input form and allows individuals to stay engaged in the planning process by signing up to receive occasional updates.
The input form takes about 10 minutes to complete. Participation is voluntary and all responses are anonymous.
For input to be considered, submissions must be completed by Feb. 28.
The public is also encouraged to sign up for periodic email updates on the DNR’s strategic planning process. Anyone with questions can email [email protected].
