The BHA Hike to Hunt Challenge kicks off tomorrow, June 1st. We thought we’d kick it up a notch.
In the 2013-2015 budget, the Wisconsin Legislature mandated the DNR to put 10,000 acres of public land up for sale. While it happened before the Wisconsin Chapter of Backcountry Hunters and Anglers was around to fight it, we won’t forget it.
We’re challenging you, the members of WI BHA, to help us reach a statewide goal of hiking 10,000 miles between June 1st and July 31st in honor of those 10,000 acres. On top of the $30,000 in gear being given away by HQ, we’re putting up a Stone Glacier Avail Pack, a pair of Danner Boots, and BHA Swag Packages for WI BHA members only.
For 1 entry to win the WI BHA drawing, all you have to do is join the Hike to Hunt Challenge and comment #BHA10K on the Hike to Hunt announcement on our Facebook Page to join the WI BHA Hike to Hunt 10K challenge. There are 2 ways to earn additional entries on your own. For every 100 miles you log on the Under Armour Map My Hike app you gain 2 more entries into the drawing. For every $50 you raise above the entry fee, you get 1 additional entry.
Want more entries? Hike with more people! On Thursday, June 6th, we’ll be kicking off our Hike to Hunt Team Competition. Teams must be a minimum of 5 Hike to Hunt participants, but can be as many as you’d like. Each team member must be signed up for the Hike to Hunt Challenge and use the Under Armour Hike to Hunt app. There will be four 2-week competitions for most miles hiked. Teams with the highest average miles hiked every two weeks will earn additional entries. To sign your team up, have every member join the Hike to Hunt Challenge, and comment on the Hike to Hunt announcement on our Facebook Page with your team members names and #BHA10KTeamWork.
We’ll also be doing social media challenges for individuals and teams to gain additional entries that will be announce with every 2 week team challenge starting on June 6th.
You can join at any time during the Hike to Hunt Challenge running June 1st-July31st.
Thank you for being a vital part of the WI BHA Chapter,
Wisconsin BHA
