SNOWPLOWING: Bids were taken for snowplowing for this year. We received 3 bids. Turner at $68 per hour, Manitowoc Landscape at $65 per hour, and Grass Plus at $64 per hour. Membership agreed to go with Grass Plus for our snowplowing.
WATER ISSUE: We had an issue last week with a gasket on a toilet failing due to hard water buildup causing the water to keep running. This caused the holding tank to overfill and back up which flooded the clubhouse. As a temporary preventative measure, the last person leaving at night will shut off the water pump breaker. There was a proposal to add a filter to the water to prevent future hard water damage to the facilities. Along with looking over the plumbing, the fact that our water heater is 32 years old was noticed. Membership made a motion to replace the water heater with an electric unit for around $560.
VINTAGE/UGLY GUN SHOOT: There will be a vintage/ugly gun tournament on Thursday, September 13th. Bring out the gun you originally used to shoot, or an old one you have laying around the house. It will be a $5 entry 50 bird trap shoot. Winner take all.
-We have a $50 gift card from TA Motorsports that expires on 11-24 that we have from the youth shooting program. We will take it to TA Motorsports and see if they’ll issue a new one that isn’t about to expire so we can use it at our banquet.
-Tom Schulz and Nick Sieracki will be on the nominating committee again for the 2019 directors. If you would like to be a director, or have any nominations, please see one of them.
-Thank you to everyone who participates in the various raffles that are done out at the Gun Club. There is very good participation, and the funds raised helps a lot.
-We received a thank you letter from Friends of WTA for the donation of the case of shells.
-Our new snowblower is here.
-Ron Weisner has 2 leads on an AED for at the clubhouse. One is pending, and he will have an answer by next meeting with pricing and availability. Mike Kaufman also has a contact he will reach out to.
-Dave Herrmann spoke with WTA. They are very thankful for our sponsorship to an event for the 2019 state shoot.
-We will start having an annual meeting which will take place at the December Club Meeting. This will give us the ability to recap the year, plan the year ahead, and discuss plans.
Remember you can rent the clubhouse for private parties. The cost is $100, but if you clean up the clubhouse afterwards, then $50 will be refunded. See the bar director Jim Schleis to make reservations.
The next meeting will be at 7:00pm on Tuesday, October 2nd, at the clubhouse.
Thank You,
Nick Sieracki
