INDUSTRY AND AGENCY WORKING TOGETHER TO INCREASE PARTICIPATION
The 2020 SHOT Show® was a tremendous success by all accounts. So much goes on during the show that it’s hard to keep up, but one theme that resonated with many attendees was the idea of working together to increase participation in hunting and the shooting sports. Much of the industry has heard of “R3”—recruitment, retention and reactivation—efforts and initiatives such as NSSF’s +ONESM Movement and National Shooting Sports Month® that support them. Several manufacturers, retailers and ranges are getting involved with these efforts, but many more are looking to get started and asking, “What can we do?”
One group that has extensive experience with R3 efforts are our state wildlife agencies, which have a collective reach of more than 20 million active participants. They are making it known that they are available to help you learn about R3 and are looking to partner with industry to increase participation. Several key state wildlife agency directors attended SHOT Show and told the industry about the opportunities to work together during a SHOT TV interview.
To learn more about R3 and how you can get involved contact NSSF’s Director of Research and Market Development Jim Curcuruto, visit NSSF.org/r3 and NSSF.org/plusone/ or contact your state wildlife agency.

If just one in three of America’s recreational shooters adds one new person to the shooting sports, we’ll secure a strong future for generations to come. So be the one. For all the thrills and excitement recreational shooting has given you, join the +ONE movement and invite someone to the range today. Share your experience with posts on social media. #PlusOneMovementSM
