Summer may be coming to a close, but the action at the club is heating up! Thank you to everyone who participated in a successful Summer League.

 

Summer League Final Results

 

Trophy Night will be held on October 29 at the clubhouse. Congratulations to all our division winners:

  • 1st Division Champion: Northern Labs (18-2 record)
  • 2nd Division Champion: Carol’s Maids (11-6-3 record)
  • 3rd Division Co-Champions: Heiden (16-4 record) and Dug Out (16-4 record)
  • League High Gun: Chris Yindra (Northern Labs) with a 24.15 average.

Shooting & Field Updates

  • Fall League (Now through Oct 22): It is not too late to join this Lewis Class league, where the playing field is leveled for everyone.
    • Events: 100 16-Yard Targets, 100 Handicap Targets (from the 23-yard line), and 100 Doubles Targets.
    • Cost: $15 entry per 100-target event + target fees.
    • Award: An overall trophy will be awarded to the shooter with the highest combined score across all three disciplines.
  • Skeet Fields: Exciting layout changes are coming soon. Stay tuned for further details!

Upcoming Key Dates & Events

  • Sept 8 (Tue @ 8:15 AM): WCUB Radio Feature (Ron Wiesner discusses our upcoming veterans shoot).
  • Sept 13 (Sun): Shoot for Vets Benefit (Volunteers needed for scoring and loading traps).
  • Oct 22 (Thu): Fall League ends.
  • Oct 29 (Thu): Summer League Trophy Night.
  • Nov 2 (Mon): DNR Deer Dumpster arrives at the club for local hunters.
  • Nov 7 (Sat): Annual Banquet at City Limits.

Community & Club News

  • Giving Back: We will present a $1,000 check to Pink Heals of Manitowoc County at our October meeting.
  • Get Involved: We are looking for volunteers for our Annual Banquet. Please speak to a board member if you can help.
  • Banquet Raffle: Please drop off bottles at the clubhouse for our annual booze raffle.

Did You Know? The first Amateur Trapshooting Association (ATA) sanctioned shoot at the Manitowoc Gun Club was held in 1967.
