Illinois Democrats are pushing legislation that would require all handgun ammunition in the state to be serialized and tracked in a government registry, drawing fierce opposition from gun rights organizations.
The National Association for Gun Rights raised the alarm on social media, warning that House Bill 4414 “relies on the debunked concept of microstamping to mandate serialization of all ammunition manufactured, owned, sold, or even lent within the state.
