In 2025, the NRA achieved significant legal victories by successfully challenging numerous regulations and laws, including New Mexico’s 7-day waiting period for firearm purchases, the ATF’s controversial “engaged in the business” rule, and the restrictive “pistol brace” rule. They fervently opposed efforts to ban lead ammunition in the Canaan Valley NWR and, in a landmark case now reheard by the en banc Ninth Circuit, challenged California’s background check requirement for ammunition purchases. Moreover, the NRA demonstrated unwavering dedication by filing 10 new legal cases, submitting 3 petitions for certiorari to the U.S. Supreme Court, and presenting 20 amicus briefs—9 of which were in the Supreme Court—fighting tirelessly to uphold our Second Amendment rights and protect our freedoms.
