Subject: Annual Meeting is a Success
Manitowoc County Fish & Game Protective Association held its Annual Meeting on Thursday, January 30th at City Limits in Manitowoc. Just over 70 were in attendance. The Annual Meeting is the only meeting of the board of directors of the organization that is open to the public. The meeting featured a range of community and state updates from members of government and the DNR. This is done to strengthen the partnerships that develop conservation resources in Manitowoc County. Manitowoc County Fish & Game was founded in 1907 and is recognized as one of the oldest conservation groups in the U.S.
At the meeting, Bill Peroutka was recognized as a Life Membership to the organization. This is the organization’s highest award is only given to members with a strong history of service to the organization, the community and to conservation. Bill is a member of the Manitowoc Unit for many years and supports the club in a variety of ways. Bill has also helped around the county with special projects and for many years maintained the public area at the Oslo Dam property on Hwy S. He is the perfect example of what a Life Member is!
Dean Halverson was given a special recognition award for his ongoing service to the organization and to his input, service and management in bringing the new website together for the organization. The new site at www.mantyfg.com was totally redesigned to better meet today’s needs. The project was brought in on time and under budget and was completed in partnership with Seehafer Digital. Halverson joined the Manitowoc Unit when he was 14 and is already a Life Member.
Paul Tuschel of the Banquet Committee presented the organization with a check for $50,000, representing the proceeds from the 2024 banquet that was completed in late October. This is considered one of the oldest and most successful banquets in the area and funds all programs and activities of Manitowoc County Fish & Game. Proceeds are also provided to the Land Committee for future public development and the FORWARD Endowment.
