DEER HUNTING
Season Dates, Regulations and Hours
Nationally recognized as one of the country’s premier states for hunting white-tailed deer, Wisconsin has both an abundant herd and a reputation for producing some of the largest bucks in the world. Hunters have a number of opportunities this fall.
2024 Season Dates

Gun Deer Hunt for Hunters with Disabilities** | Oct. 5-13 |

Statewide Antlerless-only | Dec. 12-15 |
Antlerless-only Holiday Hunt*** | Dec. 24 – Jan. 1, 2025 |
* Season continues until Jan. 31, 2025, in Metro subunits and select Farmland Counties.

*** Open only in select Farmland (zone 2) counties; see regulations for open counties.

Additionally, hunters should refer to the Baiting And Feeding Regulations webpage often to find out if your county allows baiting and feeding of deer. The Carcass Movement, Processing and Disposal webpage also has good information on how and where deer can be moved.
Hours
Hunting hours differ depending on location in the state. Hunters can use the following documents to check hunting hours for the part of the state they hunt.
