For users with Android phones, it is important to note that this app is primarily intended for Android versions 8.0 and above. Android phones with version 7.0 may not have access to some mapping capabilities within the app and Android versions 6.0 and below will be unable to install the application – this is to help ensure a quality experience for our users.
If you harvest a deer, you’ve got three options to get it registered – online at GameReg.wi.gov (this is the fastest option), by phone (1-844-426-3734), and at in-person locations. You will need your unique tag number or harvest authorization number to begin the registration process. You’ll find all you need on our website (dnr.wi.gov, keywords “GameReg”) or at GameReg.wi.gov.
Upon submitting all required harvest information through GameReg, you’ll receive a 10-character confirmation number for your records. This confirmation number no longer needs to be written on the tag or harvest authorization, but may be required if the game is taken to a taxidermist or meat processor. You will receive a confirmation number at the completion of registration, even if registering at an in-person station.
The cooperation of hunters and private businesses has become increasingly vital to the success of our CWD sampling process. DNR staff would like to thank all those who continue to assist with CWD surveillance. To find a sampling location near you, check out the CWD sampling webpage (dnr.wi.gov, keywords “CWD sampling.”) For more general information, head to the CWD webpage (dnr.wi.gov, keyword “CWD.) If there are no sampling stations available in your county please contact your local biologist to arrange sampling.
Thanks to the efforts of a number of partners, the Adopt-a-Dumpster program provides options for hunters to dispose of deer carcasses this fall. To find a dumpster near you or learn more about YOUR carcass disposal options, check out the deer carcass disposal webpage (dnr.wi.gov, keyword “carcass disposal).
